The 2020 edition of the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy, presented last weekend at the Genoa International Boat Show, will be called “151 Points of You”.

On Saturday 21 September, Genoa International Boat Show hosted the official presentation of the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy 2020, the offshore regatta organised by the Maritime Republic of Pisa Yacht Club, the Yacht Club Punta Ala and the Livorno Yacht Club, in collaboration with the Port of Pisa, the Marina di Punta Ala and PharmaNutra S.p.A., thanks to the Cetilar® brand.

On the stage of the Breitling Theatre, inside the Sailing World space, the Presidents of the three organising Yacht Clubs, Roberto Lacorte, Alessandro Masini and Gianluca Conti, together with FIV Vice-President Alessandro Mei, Federal Councillor in charge of offshore sailing Donatello Mellina and the President of the Italian Union of Deep Sea Sailing Fabrizio Gagliardi, officially announced the dates of the next edition of the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy, the eleventh, scheduled from 30 May to 1 June 2020. As usual, the new visual and concept of the race, summarised in the expression “151 Points of You”, was also presented at the same time.

Roberto Lacorte, Vice President of PharmaNutra S.p.A., as well as President of YCRMP, explained this year’s creative choice on stage: “The personal and intimate perception that the participants have of the race and all the different experiences to be had through different perspectives, linked to the mood of each participant, are one of the reasons for the success of the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy. As a result, playing on the expression “Points of View”, the new “151 Points of You” concept was created, the leitmotif of an edition that will be spectacular”.

“It is a concept that best matches the spirit of our regatta, which has always placed its protagonists at the centre of the event”, underlined Alessandro Masini, President of the YCPA.“With this in mind, we are working to make the next 151 Miglia the most beautiful ever, as is the case with every edition: it is our goal and the spirit that has accompanied the 151 Miglia since its inception”.

“Last year we broke all possible records, both in terms of participation and enjoyment: repeating and improving on this is not easy or obvious, but it is the basis on which we are building an edition that already now, in this presentation at the Boat Show, seems to me to be enjoying a very important success”, concluded the President of the YCL, Gianluca Conti.

Last June out of 250 members, there were 220 boats at the start between Livorno and Marina di Pisa, of which 212 arrived regularly after having sailed along the route (Giraglia – Elba Island – Ants of Grosseto – Punta Ala), numbers that represent the starting point of an edition that will also number many important side events, many of which are hosted at the Port of Pisa on the weekend of 22-24 May, and that will be unveiled in the coming months.
The 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy is also confirmed for the 2020 stage of the Italian Offshore Championship of the FIV, the Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge, the circuit of regattas reserved for Maxi Yachts, and of the Tuscan Archipelago Trophy.
