ASH Atlanta 2017: a success for SiderAL® brand

Four days dedicated to hematology, in what is now unanimously considered the world’s most important event for this sector, was a success for SiderAL® brand that went far beyond our rosiest expectations: this is the synthesis of our participation at the 59th edition of the ASH Annual Meeting & Exposition, the convention that took place from the 9th to the 12th of December in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Georgia World Congress Center, thanks to the organization by the American Society of Hematology and the participation of more than 20,000 professionals from all over the world.
PharmaNutra SPA was present with a SiderAL® branded stand to show to the American market the exceptional features of its product based on Ferro Sucrosomiale® (Sucrosomial Iron), an Alesco patent that continues to gain important international recognition, as confirmed by our Scientific Director, Germano Tarantino, who has been able to study the interest shown for this technology, which is becoming more and more the first choice for treatment in cases of anemia, thanks to its high level of tolerability and the absence of collateral effects compared with traditional iron.
“The ASH Annual Meeting in Atlanta is not only the congress of the American Society of Hematology, it is at the same time the main international event in the world of hematology, a benchmark that attracts professionals from all over the world. We were the only company to propose oral iron, thanks to our brand SiderAL®. This is the reason why they came to see us from all over the world,” explains Tarantino, who doesn’t miss the occasion to highlight above all the scientific aspect of this participation. “Yes, because in addition to our stand, this year we were also present with three posters. With the first two we presented new data related to basic research projects presented by Dr. Elisa Brilli, while the third was all about an important clinical study presented by Dr. Elena Pera. I realize that for non-professionals this result may have little appeal, but having three posters in an event of this kind is most unusual, since there is a very selective weeding out of the various abstracts submitted, a process that is managed by responsible scientific commissions. Last year, for example, we had only one poster, and being selected for three this time represents a tangible sign that, even from a qualitative point of view, the research we’re doing is of major importance”.
Our participation was a total success that went well beyond the American continent. In fact, more than 25 countries have shown interest in oral iron, a market still to be developed for SiderAL®. “The conclusion is very positive in terms of visibility, but also because, in view of the appreciation of our product, the interest shown for the studies presented and the updates released at the congress, the potential of our oral iron is still to be exploited,” concludes Tarantino.
