Sucrosomial® Vitamin B12

ULTRAB12® is a formulation of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) developed with Sucrosomial® Technology, designed to ensure optimised absorption and high tolerability, overcoming the absorption limitations of conventional forms of vitamin B12.

The ULTRAB12® formulation

ULTRAB12® is a formulation of Sucrosomial® Vitamin B12 that protects the nutrient from chemical degradation and reduces interactions within the gastric environment, overcoming all limitations associated with the absorption of conventional vitamin B12 thanks to a patented delivery system.

Sucrosomial® Technology enhances the intestinal transport of the vitamin and promotes its absorption, contributing to a greater availability of vitamin B12 compared to conventional formulations.

Scientific Research

A recent study* evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of Sucrosomial® vitamin B12 (ULTRAB12®) compared to conventional oral vitamin B12 formulations. The results showed a significantly higher intestinal absorption and improved tolerability, with no relevant adverse effects, thus confirming the safety and efficacy profile of the Sucrosomial® formulation.

The physiological role of vitamin B12

Vitamin B12, or cobalamin, is an essential water-soluble vitamin involved in numerous physiological processes.
It contributes to the formation of red blood cells, the synthesis of nucleic acids and the maintenance of normal nervous system function.

Vitamin B12 is synthesised exclusively by bacteria and is mainly found in foods of animal origin.
Deficiency can occur in conditions of insufficient dietary intake (e.g. in vegetarians or vegans), in older adults, in pregnancy or in the presence of absorption disorders, such as digestive conditions or following bariatric surgery.
