Third ACT of the Cetilar M32 European Sailing Series

The third ACT of the Cetilar M32 European Sailing Series ended on Sunday in Kristiansand, Norway. Already winner of the championship in 2017 – Vitamina Sailing Team is still one of the main players of the continental circuit of the M32 catamarans.

Three days of racing were scheduled, only two actually were raced (there were no regatta on saturday because of the lack of wind) and it all ended with a third place for the M32 Vitamina Veloce SiderAL helmed by PharmaNutra SPA President Andrea Lacorte (on board with Matteo De Luca, Diego Battisti and the young Australians Torvar Mirsky and Cameron Seagreen, currently Match Race World Champions). After a total of 13 races (with four victories) the Vitamina’s ranking was just two points behind the second place, the Swiss Section 16 owned by Richard Davies, while the final victory went to the British team from GAC Pindar with Ian Williams, already winner of the previous stage held at the end of May at the Port of Pisa.

The really pretty location which hosted this ACT has been particularly lucky in terms of weather conditions, with a beautiful sun and an unusual heat at these latitudes – and it saw increasingly exciting and uncertain regattas which were disputed near the coast, right off a river mouth increasing the difficulty of the race course because of a strong current. Vitamina Veloce SiderAL has been one of the main players, especially on the final day, concluded with two victories, a second and two thirds on the score table.
A conclusion that left the team with a good level of satisfaction because of the performances offered, specially in strong wind conditions, a result which is also due to the intense winter training sessions held in Miami.

After these first three stages of the Cetilar M32 European Sailing Series, Andrea Lacorte’s Vitamina Sailing is second in the provisional general circuit’s ranking, only three points from the leader, Section 16. The next stage for the M32 catamaran races is scheduled in Aarhus, in Denmark, from 28 to 30 June.
Vitamina Sailing will then be back onboard the Melges 40 Vitamina Cetilar for the second stage of the Melges 40 Grand Prix 2018, scheduled in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, from 5 to 8 July.
