AQUAMIN®

Minerals of marine origin

AQUAMIN® is a range of functional ingredients of marine origin, selected and distributed exclusively for the Italian market by Pharmanutra Ingredients.
The AQUAMIN® line comprises natural multi-mineral complexes obtained from two different marine sources – calcified algae and ultra-pure seawater – used to enrich the nutritional profile of food and nutraceutical formulations.

Origin and marine sources

AQUAMIN® ingredients are derived from:

• Calcified algae (Lithothamnium calcareum)
  The algae grow wild in the cold, uncontaminated waters of the North Atlantic, particularly off Iceland and in southern Ireland.
  During their life cycle, they absorb minerals and nutrients from the sea, becoming a natural, plant-based and sustainable source of calcium, magnesium and trace elements.
• Irish Sea water
  For seawater-based references, pure Irish Sea water is used, processed to obtain a natural source of bioactive magnesium, available in various forms, including hydroxide and citrate.

These ingredients also contain traces of over 70 minerals, including sodium, potassium, manganese, iodine, phosphorus and selenium.

AQUAMIN® range

AQUAMIN® is available in different versions, developed to meet specific formulation requirements:

• AQUAMIN® F – powder (32% Ca – 2.2% Mg), for food applications and nutritional supplements
• AQUAMIN® TG – tablet grade – (30% Ca – 2.2% Mg), with native maize starch as a granulating agent, ideal for tablet supplements
• AQUAMIN® S – (17% Ca – 1% Mg), for low pH foods (3.0-6.0) such as drinks, yoghurt, milkshakes and frozen desserts
• AQUAMIN® SOLUBLE – (12% Ca – 1% Mg), for low pH, isotonic, still or carbonated beverages and powdered mixtures
• AQUAMIN® MG Soluble – (2% Ca – 12% Mg), based on magnesium citrate, for food, beverages and nutraceuticals
• AQUAMIN® MG TG – (33% Mg), with native maize starch as granulating agent
