Milk protein hydrolysate with bioactive decapeptide

LACTIUM® is a functional ingredient based on milk protein hydrolysate, selected and distributed exclusively for the Italian market by Pharmanutra Ingredients.
It is characterised by the presence of a bioactive decapeptide, known as α-casozepine (S1-Cn), obtained through the enzymatic hydrolysis of casein α-S1, the main milk protein.

Ingredient characteristics

α-casozepine is a naturally occurring peptide whose amino acid sequence and secondary structure exhibit high functional homology with ligands of the GABA receptor (γ-aminobutyric acid). This mechanism is the basis of the nutritional interest in LACTIUM®, which acts through a natural modulation of GABAergic activity, without the undesirable effects typically associated with substances of pharmacological origin.
LACTIUM® is not associated with addiction, sedation or impairment of cognitive function and was developed for safe and controlled nutritional use.
