Sucrosomial® Calcium

ULTRACAL® and ULTRACAL® SEA are two solutions based on Sucrosomial® Calcium, developed to meet different formulation needs in the field of functional ingredients.
Both formulations use Sucrosomial® Technology to promote effective calcium absorption and improved gastrointestinal tolerability.

ULTRACAL®

ULTRACAL® is a formulation of Sucrosomial® Calcium obtained from tricalcium phosphate, developed to provide effective calcium supply in advanced nutraceutical formulations. The combination with Sucrosomial® Technology overcomes the absorption limitations typical of traditional forms of calcium, while improving tolerability.

ULTRACAL® SEA

ULTRACAL® SEA is a formulation of Sucrosomial® Calcium of marine origin, obtained from calcium carbonate derived from the red algae Lithothamnium calcareum.
It is a calcium carbonate salt with a content of more than 30% elemental calcium, delivered via a matrix of phospholipids and sucrose esters of fatty acids. This structure allows calcium to pass through the gastric environment without irritating the intestinal mucosa, promoting effective absorption and high tolerability.

The physiological role of calcium

Calcium is an essential macroelement for normal development and maintenance of the body.
Most of the body's calcium is stored in bones and teeth, but the mineral also plays a key role in numerous physiological processes, including muscle function, neurotransmission and blood coagulation.

Adequate calcium intake contributes to the maintenance of various physiological functions, as recognised by EFSA-approved health claims.
