The Italian Spirit of Le Mans. Back to 24h: the Cetilar Villorba Corse film preview

Fifty-two minutes including 24 hours of emotions and the long, frantic waiting before the race. A mix of feelings, passion, fear and the joy for having brought to the end once more a memorable feat. “The Italian Spirit of Le Mans, back to 24h” is the new, fascinating chapter of the movie that tells the story of the Cetilar Villorba Corse challenge in the famous race at La Sarthe, officially presented yesterday at the Dallara Academy, in Varano de’ Melegari, and firstly broadcasted today on Eurosport 2.

 

In 2018, for the second consecutive season, the Italian team whith its #47 Dallara P217, entered the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After the last year’s debut, when it finished ninth over 60 cars and seventh in the Lmp2 class, Roberto Lacorte and Giorgio Sernagiotto made it again, this time together with the former Formula 1 driver Felipe Nasr – replacing Andrea Belicchi, protagonist in 2017 –  taking again the chequered flag.

 

The Ushuaia Film’s movie, produced by Cetilar Racing and directed by Niccolò Maria Pagani, tells all the events that followed the day in which the team was admitted at this year’s French “Marathon”. Starting with the participation in the first two rounds of the European Le Mans Series in Le Castellet and Monza, till Sunday 17th 2018 at 3 pm, when the chequered flag waived the end of the 86th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. “Main stars” are Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto, Andrea Belicchi (the latter forced to a stop after the Paul Ricard race) and Felipe Nasr, as well as Raimondo Amadio and Christian Pescatori, respectively Team Principal and Sport Director of Cetilar Villorba Corse.

 

The movie has been presented yesterday, in an exclusive location such as the Dallara Academy, by Eurosport’s journalists Marco Petrini and Nicola Villani, in front of prestigious people: among them engineer Giampaolo Dallara and Gèrard Neveu, the CEO of WEC (FIA World Endurance Championship).

 

“The Italian Spirit of Le Mans, back to 24h” will be broadcasted today, Sunday, December 2, on Eurosport 2 since 12.45 pm. The same TV channel will repeat on Tusday 4 at 21.30 pm, Thursday 6 at 18.45 pm, Saturday 8 at 19 pm and Sunday 9 at 19.25 pm. More repetitions of “The Italian Spirit of Le Mans, back to 24h” will be broadcated on Eurosport and its website during the Christmas time and released on line.
Yesterday has also been presented the book “Quel giorno a Le Mans (341.3)”, a story of motorsport, emotions e and sporting passion written by Emiliano Tozzi – founder of the blog Sinfonia Motore – and published by Pacini Editore, that made it available at www.pacinieditore.it. Part of the profits will be donated to charity. The same book will be sold in the main Italy’s book stores and on web.

 

During the same night Roberto Lacorte was awarded the 13rd Premio Alboreto, a special prize offered by Le Mans Model Fan Club to the most appreciated motorsport people of the year. To give the prize to the Italian driver was the club’s President Nicola Sandivasci.

 

“Watching a movie that tells of our steps in the motorsport and the Le Mans challenge, is a true big emotion”, Roberto Lacorte commented, “It represents the mix of passion and feelings of all the people that realized this project, focusing the human side of the story. When I watched “The Italian Spirit of Le Mans, back to 24h” for the first time, I finally realized how hard is the 24 Hours. A race that distresses you both phisically and mentally”.

 

“The road we started few years ago and that let us to realize the dream of 24 Hours of Le Mans, was an emotional roller coaster. This movie allowed to relive it intensely”, Giorgio Sernagiotto added, “I am very proud when I see how our project has grown up and continues to live”.
