New PharmaNutra HQ: contract signed with SACAIM
Construction work on PharmaNutra’s new pharmaceutical facility, assigned to the Venice-based general contractor SACAIM S.p.A. (Eccher Group), will commence in early July.
PharmaNutra S.p.A. has officially signed the contract with general contractor SACAIM S.p.A., a subsidiary of the Rizzani de Eccher international construction group, for the construction of its new head office, as well as a new pharmaceutical and nutraceutical laboratory and manufacturing plant, in Pisa’s San Rossore district. The design has been awarded to architect Alessandro Caponi and surveyor Alessandro Malvaldi.
The investment – worth approximately 18 million euro – will enable the PharmaNutra Group to position itself as an increasingly solid and dynamic chemicals and pharmaceuticals concern, with full control of production of sucrosomial elements and a more effective and autonomous R&D operation. The new site will house one of the most innovative molecular biology labs in Europe: a research area that will attract scientific resources and increase collaboration with leading Italian and also international universities and institutes.
Designed to comply with the highest technological, ergonomic and energy efficiency standards, the new building – located in the vicinity of the San Rossore national park – will also be tangible evidence of PharmaNutra’s commitment to sustainability, in terms of attention to both the environment and people. Employee well-being will be assured with ample green spaces and areas for relaxation and conviviality, as well as a gym. The offices will occupy approximately 5,200 m2 on a site with an outdoor area of 10,000 m2.
“At last the day we had been waiting for impatiently for months is here, and one of the most ambitious projects of the last few years gets underway today: to provide a new headquarters for our company and at the same time upgrade an area of the city that has great importance for us,” commented Roberto Lacorte, co-founder and CEO of PharmaNutra S.p.A. “The new site will reflect PharmaNutra’s standing as a chemicals and pharmaceuticals player of undisputed excellence and project us into a technologically advanced international dimension.”
“We take great pride in being able to work at the service of a brilliant first-mover in pharmaceuticals like PharmaNutra; we shall be fielding all of our international experience and know-how in complex building construction to deliver this prestigious project,” added Enrico Barbiero, Business Development Director Italy at Rizzani de Eccher and Sacaim.
Construction work is officially due to begin in July and will continue for an estimated 16 months.
